The Teachers’ and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) has declared its intention to embark on a nationwide strike from tomorrow.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the National Chairman of TEWU, Ambrose Kwadzodza attributed the move to the failure of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to conclude negotiation on their demand for better conditions of service.

He said the Union would advise itself if the Commission fails to immediately conclude negotiation on the new conditions of service for Unionized Staff of the Public Universities before the beginning of the academic year, this month, which would come with added responsibility with the intake of the first batch of graduates of the Free SHS.

Mr Kwadzodza also appealed to the Ghana Education Service to rope in the non-teaching staff of TEWU in the payment of the professional development allowance.
