University of Ghana wins Gas challenge

The University of Ghana Legon emerged winners of the Zone One Gas Challenge competition organised by the Ghana Gas Company.
It beat the Regional Maritime  University and the Ghana Technology University College to progress to the finals slated for the 30th of this month.
The University of Ghana will be contesting winners of Zones Two and three whose events have been scheduled for the 15th and 26th of this month.
The Gas Challenge competition is a human capacity development initiative which is intended to bridge the knowledge gap on gas-related matters among key stakeholders, tertiary institutions and the public.
The competition entailed five rounds and each round got competitive as it progressed. The three contestants virtually answered questions covering basically everything about oil and gas.
All three tertiary institutions were optimistic about winning the competition but in the end, University of Ghana had 72 points while Ghana Technology University had 50.5 points with Regional Maritime University getting 60.5 points.
The quiz mistress was Mrs Emmanuella Kwao-Boateng.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company, Dr Ben Asante said the concept of the competition has really increased tertiary students on their knowledge about GAS.

The next competition will come off on the 15th of next month at Tarkwa.
