President of the Wisconsin International University College, Prof. Obeng Mireku, says the university is making strides towards becoming Ghana’s premier private university through its unique and innovative practical training approach.

According to him, students who made Wisconsin University College their preferred university made the right choice.

Addressing matriculants at the University’s Twentieth Matriculation Ceremony held at its Accra Campus, Prof. Obeng Mireku explained that the private higher learning institution is not just a university but a beacon of excellence, deeply committed to delivering an exceptional learning experience.

“Dear Matriculants, at Wisconsin, we have everything you need to transform you into quality graduates at the end of your stay here, provided you make the best of the numerous opportunities placed at your disposal. Our students who have seized these opportunities continue to excel in various engagements both on and off campus.

Matriculants.

You may already be aware of the performance of our students, who were pitched against the crème de la crème from universities in Ghana. Notable among them is the performance of our students in the 2019 National Business Challenge. Wisconsin achieved remarkable results, coming only second to the University of Cape Coast.

Again, at the recently held induction ceremony of the Ghana Bar Association, it didn’t come as a surprise when as many as 55 students of Wisconsin Law faculty—more than twice the number from last year—were called to the Bar. This achievement not only reflects the quality of teaching and mentorship we offer but is also a proof of the high standards of Wisconsin in the league of the best universities in the country,” President of the WISCONSIN whispered.

Prof. Mireku, admonishing the matriculants to make the most of their stay at the university, said, “Your predecessors are blazing the trail wherever they find themselves. It takes hard work, dedication, and the enabling environment which we have provided for you to succeed and make you.”

Ms. Fatoumata Kangaye Kelly, a matriculant, in an interview with GBCGHANAONLINE after the ceremony thanked the management of the University for the opportunities offered them.

Ms. Kangaye Kelly, on behalf of her colleagues, assured the Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College, Rev. Dr. Paul Fynn, members of the board, the University Council, principal officers, heads of departments, lecturers, and staff of their commitment and dedication.

“On behalf of my colleagues and myself, we promise to work diligently, uphold high integrity, and also seize every available opportunity for our advancement and that of the university,” she added.

Wisconsin International University College admitted a total of 2,501 matriculants, comprising 467 males and 1660 females, for the Accra campus and 474 students in total, including 99 males and 375 females, for the Kumasi campus for the 2023/2024 academic year.
