Factor the study of corruption into basic school cirricula – AG

The Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo has asked government to factor the study of corruption into the Basic school Curricula.
According to him, education will play a critical role in eliminating or reducing the corruption menace currently bedeveling the country.
Mr. Domelevo was speaking at a townhall meeting on media and corruption in Ghana. He said teaching children at the basic level on corruption will help inculcate good morals to do away with corrupt tendencies later in life.
He said though it would be difficult to eradicate corruption completely in Ghana, the country must put in place a system that will minimize person to person contact which most of the time lure people into engaging in corrupt practices.

“We have to put systems in place to reduce person-to-person contact to reduce corruption in the public service of Ghana”- Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo

The townhall meeting organised by the Media Foundation for West Africa and some media organistion is to bring together media experts, journalists, civil society organisations, and members of the diplomatic corps.
The meeting serves as a platform to delibrate on the role of the media in fighting corruption as well as how the media can effectively sustain the fight against the corruption menace in the country.
