The Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana, PFAG and the Ghana National Association of Cattle Farmers have come out with a draft Policy which will help find solution to the perennial conflict that ensues between farmers and cattle herders.

The policy will address issues where cattle from neighbouring countries are to graze and point of entry of cattle from other countries.

Speaking at a forum to present the draft policy to the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Executive Director of PFAG, Victoria Adongo said the policy if implemented would bring lasting solution to the problem.

She said lots of consultations have taken place to ensure that there is a win-win for all parties.

“The two associations are the people who suffer in this whole conflict. The farmers suffer, the herdsmen too suffer. So the two associations have come together to discuss and agree on the steps forward.”
