Fire Service takes steps to prevent frequent fire outbreaks

The Upper East Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service, GNFS, has indicated that the frequent fire outbreaks in the region is as a result of gross indiscipline in the handling of fire and other flammable materials.

The Upper East Regional Ghana National Fire Service Commander, Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Heroine Boakye, who made the observation when personnel of the GNFS embarked on a route march through the principal streets of Bolgatanga noted that if people are more careful, incidence of fire outbreaks could be reduced to the barest minimum.

She said safety measures by fire users, are major issues that needs to be looked at.
