According to Joseph Ebusua, the Babykaafo Project which was launched in 2017 is an African wide initiative which aims at making sure no mother dies as a result of lacking the relevant information at the time they need it in the Language they Understand.

He added that the project is targeting “Kayayos” in Accra because they do not have the best knowledge about Breast Cancer and those who have knowledge about It may be able money to go for regular mammogram due to financial problems.

“We are not just using this opportunity to only reach out to the “Kayayos” and screen them, but to talk to them about health issues especially the mothers” he said.

Madam Angela also disclosed that, over 200 “Kayayos” are expected to be screened on Sunday. She said the project will not take the normal trend of just screening them for Breast cancer but educate them more on Breastfeeding and how to cater for their babies.

‘We are “Babykaafo”, so we are the voice of the baby. In the cycle of life everyone passes the baby stage. Babies cannot talk for themselves at this stage. The Breast milk has no other substitute. We are saying that as mothers let us check ourselves in order to prevent Breast Cancer to preserve the breast for the babies.” She noted.
