The Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo, says he will not apologise to Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, for including his name in the list of GETFund beneficiaries.

In a letter dated Tuesday, February 25, 2020 and signed by his lawyer, Mr Gary Nimako Marfo, the Deputy Minister is demanding an unqualified apology after accusing the A-G of acting “unprofessional”.

But a statement from the Auditor-General said, he cannot be held responsible for the contents of the audit report because the list was provided by GETFUND.

The Deputy Agric Minister has threatened to sue Mr Domelevo if his name was not retracted from the reports on beneficiaries of the GETFund scholarship which has received backlash from the public.

Mr. Domelevo urged Mr. Nyarko to address his concerns to GETFund.

He noted: “every information or name that is contained in the performance audit report on GETFund came from GETFund, adding that, “his office had no malice or bias towards any individuals named in the list of GETFund beneficiaries.”
