The Ghana Football Association, GFA has taken a significant step towards revitalizing grassroots football development in the country. Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has announced a $200,000 investment in grassroots football, with $100,000 allocated to Colts football and another $100,000 directed towards Division Two, Division Three, and the Women’s League.

This initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader commitment to making football more accessible and inclusive across all levels.

Essential support for colts teams

The investment will provide essential support to Colts teams nationwide, including the supply of footballs and other necessary resources.

According to Okraku, the funds will go a long way in promoting football development among young players.

This move is expected to have a positive impact on the growth of football in Ghana, particularly at the grassroots level.

Strengthening football ecosystem

The GFA’s initiative is in line with the FIFA Forward Program, which aims at strengthening the global football ecosystem through infrastructure and development funding.

The program supports football associations worldwide in their efforts to develop football infrastructure, promote football development, and increase participation in the sport.

The GFA’s investment in grassroots football is a step in the right direction towards achieving these goals.

Promoting inclusivity in football

The investment in Division Two, Division Three, and the Women’s League is a testament to the GFA’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in football. By providing support to these leagues, the GFA is ensuring that football is accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, or geographical location. This move is expected to promote football development and increase participation in the sport.

A Brighter future for Ghanaian football

The GFA’s investment in grassroots football is a positive development for the sport in Ghana. With more support for young players and lower-league teams, the future of Ghanaian football looks bright.

The GFA’s commitment to promoting football development and inclusivity is expected to yield positive results, and the organisation’s efforts are likely to have a lasting impact on the sport in Ghana.
