The Northern Regional Security Council says it is liaising with the Guinean Embassy in Accra to repatriate its Nationals who were quarantined for covid-19.

The Regional Minister and Chairman of the Council, Salifu Saed, in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana in Tamale, said the closure of borders however remains a challenge to the Security Council.

The seven Guineans staged a protest demanding to be sent to their country.

Mr. Saed said security around the guest house where they are being quarantined has been beefed up and there are serious discussions underway to find a solution to the issue.

The Regional Minister also used the occasion to address concerns about the holy month of Ramadan in line with the covid-19 protocols.
