Government has deployed 32 Regional Information Officers, over 200 District Information Officers and 1,000 officers including van operators and announcers across the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

In addition, the Information Service Department (ISD) has been provided with posters and flyers developed by the Ghana Health Service to be distributed to the vast majority of Ghanaians.

These posters and flyers are reference materials meant to intensify education on the COVID-19.

“One of the first things we are doing is a public education campaign. Working with the Information Services Department so that every village, every hamlet, every chief’s palace, every little market down there can get the word on COVID-19,” Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said during a training session with ISD officers on Wednesday, March 18.

Ghana recorded another case of the deadly coronavirus as of March 17, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to seven.
