Ghana’s U-15 boys’ national team finished the group stage of the CAF African Schools Football Championship in a commanding fashion on Thursday, March 24, 2025 securing two wins in one day to finish with perfect 9 points.

In their first match of the day, Ghana came up against a determined South African side. It was a tight contest, but forward Ignatius Cyril Acquah Hagan broke the deadlock in the first half after connecting beautifully with teammate John Andor.

South Africa pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half, but Ghana’s defense, led by Abdul Razack, stayed organized and resilient to protect the narrow lead until the final whistle.

Later in the day, the team returned to face Algeria in their final group game. Ghana came out strong from the start, controlling the tempo and pressing high. Ramsey Antwi came close early on, but it was Festus Gyamfi who eventually opened the scoring with a sensational long-range strike.

Just five minutes later, team captain Cyrus Ankomah doubled the lead with another powerful effort from outside the box. The momentum carried into the second half, with Hagan adding a third goal to put the result beyond doubt.

With three wins from three matches, six goals scored, and none conceded, Ghana finishes top of Group A. The team now heads into the semifinals full of confidence, focus, and the belief that they can go all the way on home soil.
