Former President John Dramani Mahama has told delegates of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), in the Bono-Ahafo Region that Ghanaians are looking up to the party to reverse the harsh economic conditions facing the country.

Mr. Mahama is on a five-day tour of the region to meet with delegates in the constituencies, ahead of the flagbearership elections of the NDC in December.

He said Ghanaians are therefore expecting the delegates to choose the right candidate in the flagbearership elections of the party, to enable the candidate win the 2020 general elections.

He noted that, after lying to win political power in 2016, the NPP government has brought untold hardship to Ghanaians and they are calling for the return of the NDC.

He said it is therefore important that delegates of the NDC elect a candidate who can bring victory to the party in the next presidential elections.

This candidate, Mr. Mahama said, must also have the requisite experience in governance as well as the ability to work hard to bring prosperity to all Ghanaians.

Mr. Mahama told delegates at various meetings in the Pru East and West, Sene East and West, Atebubu Amantin and Nkoranza South, all in the Bono-Ahafo Region, last Thursday that he is committed to unifying the NDC, strengthening its structures and working hard to return the party to power in 2020.

He has therefore urged the delegates to give him massive endorsement in the flagbearership elections.

Former President Mahama appealed to all members of the NDC to unite and work with common interest and purpose, noting that disunity also took a toll on the fortunes of the party in the last elections.
