Ghana’s coronavirus case count has shot up to 4,700 with 494 recoveries and 22 deaths.

In a televised address to the Nation last night on measures taken to stem the spread of the pandemic, President Akufo-Addo welcomed the relatively lower daily number of infections.

This, according to the President, is a testimony to the fact that the measures instituted to help reduce person-to-person contact are working.

President Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to adopt healthy eating habits and take their personal hygiene and fitness seriously as the nation battles virus.

The need to improve personal hygiene and fitness is seen as a way of boosting immunity against COVID-19.

The President said the key vitamins that fortify the immune system are vitamins A, B6, C, and D found in local foods like kontomire, Dawada and fruits such as orange.
