The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has expressed worry over the chunk of Ghana’s funds being channeled into preventable diseases such as cholera, despite intensive public health education in the country.

According to the WHO, about 75 percent of diseases in the world are preventable and it will be a disservice to the country especially when funds which should be allocated to tackle other serious diseases are spent on preventable ones.

The Chairman of the Ghana Health Service Council, Dr Yao Yeboah expressed the concern at a media engagement on the GHS Health Promotion Implementation Policy and Strategic Plan in Accra.

He asked Ghanaians to be disciplined and observe simple personal hygiene, for improved health.
