Government took proactive COVID-19 measures – Dr Okoe Boye

Deputy Minister of Health designate, Dr Okoe Boye has defended measures taken by the Government to deal with outbreak of the coronavirus despite comments that state was too slow to act after China and other European countries reported increases.

Among those who have chastised government are Renowned Bishop and Medical Doctor, the Rev Dag Heward Mills and some politicians.

According to them, Government ignored calls for the border to be closed a week before the country recorded her first case.

But answering questions during the vetting, the Deputy Minister of Health designate,  said Government was proactive and took decisions as and when necessary.
