Gov't and GMA agree to enhance consultation in drone implementation projects

Government and the Ghana Medical Association GMA have agreed to enhance consultation in the implementation of projects and programmes.

This follows a meeting held yesterday between the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, the Ghana Medical Association and Zipline sponsors of the drones for medical supplies project which was chaired by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

A statement issued by a Deputy Minister of Information Pius Enam Hadzide, explained that the move follows the GMA’s call for the suspension of the project to allow for further consultation following Parliament’s approval of the deal on Tuesday.

Yesterday’s discussions according to the statement was “fruitful and productive. It was agreed that going forward, the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service will engage in a process of enhanced consultation with the GMA and other stakeholders in the process of implementation of the drones for medical supplies project.
