Government has described as untrue, claims by the opposition that it has abandoned hospital projects dotted around the country.

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu at a news conference in Accra described the claims as total mischief.

The Minority has served notice to summon the Health Minister before the House to demand answers on why the government has abandoned works on some hospital projects in the Ashanti region started by the previous Mahama-led administration.

They mentioned projects such as the 120-bed Kumawu District Hospital and Adansi-Fomena District Hospital as some of the abandoned projects.

Giving a breakdown of the state of medical facilities, Mr. Manu said some of the projects inherited were abandoned way back during the Kufuor Administration.

He emphasised that this administration has not abandoned any project adding that those eight projects abandoned during the Kufour administration were because of challenges ranging from lands to funds.
