Gov't reviews curfew hours on Yendi township and its environs

The Minister for the Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew imposed on Yendi Township and its environs effective Sunday, January 20, 2019.

The curfews hours have been reviewed from 5:00pm to 7:00am to 6:00pm to 6:00am
This was in a statement issued by the Interior MinisterAmbross Dery on Sunday, January 20, 2019, in Accra.

The statement said Government is urging the Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

“Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Yendi Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.” The statement concluded.
