The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza, has revealed that the government, through his outfit, will soon sign a contract for the construction of the biggest and longest bridge in Ghana on the Afram River in Afram Plains of the Eastern region.

The Roads Minister, speaking in an interview, stated that the government’s desire to undertake major infrastructure development, such as the construction of a landmark bridge project in the Afram Plains, is expected to significantly improve connectivity in under or unserved areas of Ghana.

“I will be signing the contract for the biggest and longest bridge in Afram Plains, an infrastructure milestone that will enhance mobility and drive socio-economic growth,” he said.

The Afram Plains Bridge forms part of broader government efforts to open up previously underserved regions and integrate them more fully into the national economy.

Once completed, the bridge is expected to ease the movement of people and goods, boost trade, and support long-term development in surrounding communities.
