A/R: Over 40,000 people expected to be vaccinated in next 7 days

More than 40 thousand people are expected to be vaccinated in the next 7 days with the Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccine in the Ashanti Region. 7 centres have been designated for the vaccination.

Correspondent, Thomas Nsowah-Adjei, visited the Suntreso Government Hospital, one of the centers for the exercise and reports that many people have been in and out of the facility to inquire information about the vaccination.

The Metropolitan Disease Control Officer, Kingsley Atuahene Ampratwum, said the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is meant for those who have not taken any dose yet. He advised those who are yet to receive the second dose of earlier vaccines to, ‘’ wait until further notice’’.

Mr. Atuahene appealed to those who have not benefited from the dosage, ‘’to avail themselves to help fight the spread of the covid-19 pandemic’’.

The Medical Director at the Suntreso Government Hospital, Dr. Agyarko Poku said, ‘’there is nothing to fear about the vaccine. However, any adverse signs seen after the jab is received should be reported to qualified Medical Personnel.
