Manager of the Expanded Program on Immunisation, Dr. Kwame Amponsah-Akyianu says about 5.8 million Ghanaians are expected to be vaccinated against the yellow fever disease in 81 districts across the country.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Dr. Amposa-Akyianu said there is a surge in the disease hence the need to vaccinate the public against it.

He appealed to the public who have not yet been vaccinated to avail themselves of the vaccination exercise which begins today and end on Wednesday 18th November.

Dr. Amponsah-Akyianu said those allergic to egg or chicken product should not take the vaccine but adhere to other preventive measures in order not to contract the disease.
