Acute blood shortage hits Tamale Teaching Hospital

Acute blood shortage has hit the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The development has put accident victims and other patients requiring urgent blood transfusion for survival in danger.

The hospital has launched an urgent appeal to the public to come out and voluntarily donate blood to save lives.

The Tamale Teaching Hospital is the main referral facility in Northern Ghana and communities in Togo, Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire.

The Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Mohammed Musbawu in an interview with Radio Ghana, said the situation is critical and pleaded with the public to come to their aid.
