Cataract cases decline in Eastern Region

In 2017, 773 cataract cases were recorded in the Eastern Region as against 1,028 in 2016.
This shows a decrease of 255.
The Acting Eastern Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Albert Antobre Boateng made this known at the launch of National Cataract Outreach Programme (NCOP) in Koforidua.
He said blindness is a major public health issue especially among the poor.
Dr. Antobre said poor sight is one of the major contributors to road carnage in Ghana.
