Government is deploying the use of drones for transportation of samples taken from persons suspected to be infected with Coronavirus for onward delivery to the various centres for testing.
The drone services which was essentially for delivery of blood and essential services is now being given additional responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver samples and other COVID-19 related services.
President Akufo-Addo who announced this during his seventh address to the Nation on the Coronavirus noted that 51 samples have already been delivered from the Omenako Drone Distribution Centre to Noguchi.
He said government is upgrading other laboratories to achieve one testing centre per region.
