Authorities of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have explained that even though initial research and trial results of the Nibima herbal medicine have indicated a potential efficacy for the treatment of COVID-19, subjecting the medicine to further and clinical trial by the Food and Drugs Authority is a legal requirement meant to either confirm the early findings or otherwise.

The University Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Berkoe, has therefore entreated members of the public to exercise restraint for the Clinical Trial of the medicine to be completed within four months before rushing to patronize it for the treatment of COVID-19.
