The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) is recommending free COVID-19 testing or a relatively cheaper testing fee for the ordinary Ghanaian.
Additionally, it is also calling for health workers to be provided with adequate PPE to help them discharge their duties safely and effectively.
The General Secretary of the Association, Dr Justice Yankson in an interview said most of the designated facilities for isolation and treatment of COVID-19 cases in the country are currently overstretched.
He explained that the spike in cases was observed before, during and after the Christmas and New Year festivities adding that this has become a source of major concern to the Association.
