The Ghana Health Service has indicated that there has been a decline in the daily cases of Covid-19 in the country for the past 3 weeks.

In addition, there has been a decline in admissions to hospitals as well as the Kotoka International Airport.

This means that Ghana’s Covid-19 situation has improved significantly in the past weeks.

The Country’s total confirmed cases stand at 126,803 with 121, 878 recoveries. Active cases now stand at 3,597 with 1,146 deaths.

Briefing Journalists in Accra, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye noted that the decline in cases does not mean people should be complacent.

“Everyone needs to observe the safety protocols seriously to further reduce cases,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s vaccination drive has also seen a significant improvement. About 5 million people have been vaccinated as of 25th September 2021.

So far the government has taken delivery of about 5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Dr Patrick Kumah Aboagye said though a quarter of the population has been vaccinated so far, they hope to reach the target of vaccinating 20 million of the population by the close of 2021.
