Ghanaians respond positively to Johnson and Johnson vaccination against Covid-19

About 11,000 people have been vaccinated with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine in the Ashanti region since the jab was deployed on the 13th of this month.

More than 50,000 jabs are to be administered in the region by Friday, August 20.

This was announced by the Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang at a news briefing in Kumasi.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccination exercise is taking place at four identified hotspots in the Ashanti region by the Ghana Health Service. They are the Kumasi Metro, Oforikrom, Asokwa and Kwadaso Municipalities.

The Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang explained the reason for the selection of the four districts in the region as hotspots.

Dr. Tenkorang also gave a situational report on the coronavirus situation in the region.
