Health minister inspects work on Sege and Ashaiman polyclinics

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has inspected work on the Sege and Ashaiman polyclinics which are among five health facilities under construction to support existing health infrastructure in the capital.
Mr Agyemang-Manu expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, adding that the health facilities will be completed in December and commissioned in January next year (2018). The tour offered the Minister the opportunity to see at first hand, the state of health facilities in the Greater Accra Region.
The visit to Sege and Ada was an eye opener because the minister and his entourage noticed how far the project has reached and some difficulties which need resolution to ensure  smooth completion.
Others to be visited today include polyclinics at Ogbojo in the Adentan Municipality, Oduman in Ga West District and Bortianor hospital in the Ga South District. Each has a thirty bed capacity with male, female and pediatric wards. The facilities, which are among ten other polyclinics to be built across the country is about 80% complete.
The Minister said the facilities will be crucial in emergency cases in event of accidents. The projects are being funded by the Austrian government.
The branch Manager for Vamed Engineering, the construction firm working on the project, Albert Tackie assured the Minister that the company is working hard, to complete the projects in December.
The Minister was accompanied on the tour by Officials of the Ministry and allied institutions.
