A long awaiting comfort has returned to patients at the Keta Government Hospital and the Anloga Clinic as Melcom Care Foundation has responded to a distress call from an International Peace Ambassador and President of Project Volta, Togbui Goba-Tenge Seddoh to support the two Health Facilities with Bed Sheets, Pillows and Pillow Cases.

The request, from Project Volta for assistance, was delivered with photographic evidence to show the neglected state of bedding facilities at the two health delivery centers.

Both facilities especially the Keta Government Hospital is said to have lacked basic equipment, materials, medical consumables coupled with infrastructure and this has come as a shock to Melcom management to have seen “the deplorable state of the superstructure and immediately gave the go-ahead for the request to be met fully”.

In line with its thinking to help Ghanaians and mankind at large, the Group Director of Communications, Godwin Avenorgbo stressed the point that “Melcom Care Foundation chose it as an operational area of Corporate Social Initiatives, the sectors which affect every one of us whether rich or poor either directly or indirectly and these are Education and Health”, and “providing inputs for health delivery services, therefore, come easy as our first point of call in supporting humanity”.

At a short ceremony at the Keta Hospital to present the items, Mr. Avenorgbo assured of continued support.

“Team Melcom representing the Melcom Care Foundation is therefore giving the assurance that for as much as we can and for as long as we can and for as many times as the need arises we will respond to the call to make life more convenient for those who need support no matter where they live in Ghana.”

He, however, urged Doctors, Nurses, and all the service providers at facilities in Ghana to continue doing their best under the trying circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, inadequate financing, and logistic support, and many of the shortfalls experienced in service delivery inputs.

“We appreciate your sacrifices,” he acknowledged.

Head of Administration at the Keta Government Hospital, Emmanuel Aforbu, was grateful to Melcom for responding during a time of need.

According to him, “Keta hospital, like any other Hospitals, we have challenges with personnel and others and this bed sheet has come to meet a need and they will be used immediately for the patients.”

President of Project Volta, Togbui Goba-Tenge Seddoh was happy for the donation but called for more from other corporate bodies and individuals.

He expressed satisfaction and added that “at long last our struggles for these things have come and Keta too, will shine because if you go inside, you see terrible thing including bed buds”.

The event was preceded by a courtesy call on the Awoamefia of Anlo Togbi Sri to seek his permission and his authority before entering Anlo and Keta townships.
