The Ministry of Health has denied allegations that all mortuary workers at government hospitals in the country are on strike.
According the Ministry, although some have served notice to withdraw their services, mortuary workers at the major government hospitals are still at post.
His comments follow a notice by a group called the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG), who have been battling with government to increase their salaries and improve their conditions of service.
In March this year (2019) MOWAG went on a strike which was called off after three days following assurances by  government.
However, negotiations between the Association and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission appear to have broken down, forcing the workers to lay down their tools again.
Speaking to GBC’s Ibrahim Kwarteng on news and current affairs programmme ‘Behind the News’, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Health Elorm Ametepey said although not all of them have laid down their tools, the Ministry is ready to meet their demands.
