The Manager of the Extended Programme on Immunizsation at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kwame Amponsah-Achiano, has urged parents and guardians to embrace the polio vaccination exercise as the second round begins today (October 8, 20202) to Sunday, October 11.

He said caregivers who have children under five years should make the children available for the exercise because they need the vaccines as much as they need their legs.

The second round of phase three polio mass immunization is expected to be conducted in the Ashanti, Eastern, Volta, Western, Central, Western North, Upper West and the Greater Accra Regions.

More than 4.5 million children have been targeted for both rounds of immunization as the first round took place from the 10th to the 13th of September.
