Second phase of COVID-19 vaccination begins today

Health Professionals in Eastern Region dispatched to administer Covid-19 vaccines

All is set for the second phase of the Covid vaccination today. This phase targets those who took the first dose.

Director-General of the Ghana Health Service Dr Patrick Kumah Aboagye at a media briefing in Accra said all logistics including vaccine devices have been distributed to designated centres.

He this second phase which will be done in all 43 designated districts will cover 360 thousand people.

Dr. Aboagye cautioned that this phase is strictly for those who took the first jab.

So far 852,047 people have been vaccinated with the largest population from Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.

Dr. Aboagye said SMS will be sent to those who are due for a vaccination. He also spoke about issues of adverse effects which may arise after taking the jab.
