Some Ghanaians have described the second day of the Johnson and Johnson vaccination as smooth.
GBC News visited selected Centers in the Ablekuma Central Municipality and observed that there was high patronage, as some Ghanaians, mostly the Abossey-Okai spare parts dealers were seen in queue to take their jabs.
The Supervisor at St. Luke Methodist Church, Abossey Okai, Christina Ashitey expressed worry that some people were unwilling to allow the health workers to give priority to the aged.
Hannah Dadzie reports that when GBC News visited some of the Centres, people who had already taken their jabs were under observation, in the event of any adverse reaction.
Others were in the queue waiting to be vaccinated. It was observed that the Covid-19 protocols, especially social distancing and the wearing of nose masks were strictly adhered to.
The Supervisor at St. Luke Methodist Church, Abossey Okai, Christina Ashitey described the exercise as “successful’’. She asked those who have already taken the AstraZeneca vaccine to be careful and not to go for the Johnson and Johnson jab.
Most of the people GBC News spoke to said the process has been smooth and asked those who have misconceptions about the jab to ignore it and go for it to guarantee their safety against the virus.
Health Officials continue to appeal to Ghanaians to avail themselves of the vaccination to help Ghana to attain its goal of herd immunity.
