The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Ebi Bright, has cut the sod for the construction of a neonatal facility at the Tema Manhean Polyclinic, marking a significant step towards improving maternal and newborn healthcare services in the metropolis.

The project is being implemented under the Partnerships for Municipal Innovation – Women in Local Leadership (PMI-WILL) programme. It is funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada and executed by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) in collaboration with the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) and the Tema Metropolitan Assembly.

The sod-cutting ceremony was attended by Naa Asafoanye and Nii Adjetey Agbo II, Acting President of the Tema Traditional Council, as well as heads of departments from the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, the Polyclinic Administrator, and staff of the facility. Their presence highlighted the strong partnership and collective ownership of the initiative.
