Ultra-Modern Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for mothers in Eastern Region

A sod-cutting ceremony has been held for the construction of an Ultra-Modern Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Complex at the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.

The project estimated to cost GHC 2 million will be funded and executed by Kabaka Foundation

The project estimated to cost GHC 2 million will be funded and executed by Kabaka Foundation, a non-governmental organization with the aim of complementing the government’s effort to ensure quality health care delivery.

The 280 square meter office complex when completed will have a NICU space with high and low dependency unit, 40 bed capacity mother’s hostel, Out Patients Department and an Isolation ward.

The Medical Director at the facility, Dr. Akoto Ampaw commended the foundation for the gesture, saying it will go a long way to solve neonatal service challenges of  the hospital.

 The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Nana Owiredu, who is also the development Chief of Kwahu- Nkwatia promised to execute the project on schedule.
