The Bono Regional Chairman of the govering New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC has asked Ghanaians particularly indigenes of Oti not to fall for former President John Mahama’s promise of constructing a bridge over the Oti River when elected in 2020.

Mr. Mahama made the promise when he recently visited the area, however,  Abronye DC in a statement said the former President deserves no attention from Ghanaians, because he made the same promise to the people of Oti prior to the 2012 general elections.

But failed to honour his pledge as the sitting President from 2013 to 2017. The statement said.

“I say so because this same Mahama had already promised the people of Oti region on the October 15, 2012 prior to the 2012 general elections that, when voted for as president, he would construct a bridge over the Oti river for them.” Abronye recalled in the statement.

The statement pointed out that “He (Mahama) said this while addressing a rally at Saboba in the then Northern Region as part of his three (3)-days tour to the region.”

“This clearly tells us the true behavior of John Mahama. He still hold the conception and idea that, Ghanaians are suffering from a short memory syndrome,” it said.

The statement however, indicated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to construct a bridge over the Oti River while urging Ghanaians to have hope in President Akufo-Addo as he starts the process.
