Ghanaian artiste, Darlington Agyekum, popularly known as Dr. Cryme has revealed that being elected Student Representative Council, SRC President at Methodist University Ghana has made him realize that inclusivity is the key to getting the job done.

According to him, involving the students in the governance process makes them take the work seriously just as he does.

Speaking on the GTV breakfast show on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the ‘Kill me shy’ hit maker emphasized that
his leadership is built on inclusivity, student participation and a focus on longevity rather than short‑term gains.

He intends to involve the student body directly in decision‑making, arguing that when students are part of the governance process they take ownership of the outcomes. “If one is doing something and has the platform to draw the people in, it is wise to get them to be a part of the process”.

Speaking on longetivity, Dr. Cryme linked his approach to his music career, noting that he does not create songs merely to chase hits but to leave a lasting impact. “I make them understand that once we’re gone, our legacy will be remembered, so whatever you do look at the longevity,” he said, drawing a parallel between artistic endurance and student leadership .

Balancing a professional music schedule with SRC duties, he acknowledged the challenge but stressed that effective time management is the key to succeeding in both realms.
