A former captain of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Jonathan Kpakpo Oti Ankrah, is dead.
Ankrah, 84, nicknamed “Joe Darkota” or “Afro Joe” died on Wednesday, April 7, 2020, in the United States of America (USA).
Ankrah, passed away in Silver Spring, Maryland after weeks on admission at the hospital’s Internal Care Unit (ICU).
Nicknamed Joe Dakota, he was one of the longest-serving captains of Hearts of Oak.
A club statement read: “He was a pillar in defence at the club during the late 1960s and early 1970s.”
