Human Rights abuse is on the ascendancy on the African continent today. Day-in day-out, people face all kinds of human rights abuse including attacks and massacres.

To ensure that human rights violations are stopped on the continent, the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, KAIPTC has designed a course to enhance the capacities of actors involved in multi-dimensional peace operations to broaden their knowledge on how to handle such cases.

The objective of the course is to enhance participants’ ability to understand, identify and apply international legal, policy and institutional frameworks for the promotion and protection of human rights.

Also to provide participants with practical skills and strategies to advocate and support the implementation of human rights mandates. More so, to expose participants to the challenges of human rights promotion and protection and equip them with the knowledge and skills required to overcome them.

Speaking at the opening of the course, Deputy German Ambassador to Ghana, Hans Helge Sander asked participants to exchange ideas for each others benefit.

He entreated them to provide feedback and recommendations on the course to enable KAIPTC to maintain its relevance.
