Barcelona forward Kevin Prince Boateng has disclosed that he struggled when he joined Tottenham Hotspurs because he could not control his weight.
Boateng who is on loan at Barcelona from Sassuolo says when he first arrived in London, he did not pay attention to his diet and that affected his weight.
After leaving Tottenham, he joined Tottenham where his career turned around for the best.
“Now I weigh 83 kilos. That was down to the party. At Tottenham I did not play and I was always with the fans in the stands. In London I was 20 years old. And you go partying, you’re with friends and you eat badly,” he said.
“Now I have my cook and I am aware that eating well and being healthy lengthens the race. When you’re young you think that every month the money is going to be there. If you do not play you do not care because you have money and friends tell you that you are a phenomenon.”
Boateng has featured once for Barcelona since joining in the winter transfer window.
