Android comes with permissions. Permissions are available for your own safety and security which means it must not be overlooked. It can harm one if one becomes ignorant to it. There are vast android applications on the internet. Careful with the kind of permission you give to your android applications.

Android is doing well to make sure you are secured that is why, as at now from Android 6.0 Marshmallow and higher introduced a new permissions model that let apps to request permissions from you [the user] at only when the application needs it (tech guys call it runtime), rather than during the time you begin to install the app at fresh (tech guys call it install time request) like Android 5.1.1 and below.

The purpose of permission is to protect your privacy.

Android apps must ask you for permission to access sensitive user data such as contacts and SMS as well as certain system features.
