LADMA begins ‘no mask, no entry’ measure

The La-Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly has introduced measures to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus in the Municipality.

In a resolution signed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Reverend Solomon Kotey Nikoi, the Assembly will from Thursday, April 30 begin strict implementation of wearing of nose masks by every resident including visitors.

The Assembly also resolved to among other measures ensure that restaurants, supermarkets, shops and all food vending points provide veronica buckets and liquid soap for regular hand washing as well as strict compliance to social distancing.

Speaking to GBC-Obonu News on the measures, the La-Dadekotopon Municipal Coordinating Director, Daniel Nkrumah, said for continuous flow of water to all residents, the Assembly is stationing water reservoirs and veronica buckets at vantage places in the area.

Mr. Nkrumah, who supported the government’s call for the compulsory wearing of nose masks said the Assembly will initially make some available to the people however should they run out of stock, every individual must make it a personal responsibility to get one.

Mr. Nkrumah said the Assembly is contracting the services of ‘borla’ taxis to augment the efforts of the public waste collectors for regular waste collection to improve sanitation.

The Municipal Assembly indicated that defaulters in the use of the nose masks and those who fail to consistently keep a clean surrounding will be arrested to face the full rigours of the law.
