The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, says her Ministry will consider re-engineering of landfill sites, to address the country’s sanitation problem.
She said the lack of landfill sites over the years has impeded efforts at addressing sanitation problems.
While landfill sites take fifty five percent of waste, most of them especially in Accra are full and there are fears that a time will come when there will be no place to dump waste generated in the city.
Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Madam Dapaah appealed to Academia to make available research findings on sanitation to the Ministry for consideration.
