Landlords advised against taking on new tenants without COVID-19 clearance

The Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta-Akyea, has asked Landlords not to take undue advantage of the economic crises posed by COVID-19 to exploit financially constrained tenants.

Addressing journalists in Accra, Mr. Atta-Akyea also cautioned Landlords against accepting tenants especially foreigners who have not checked their COVID-19 status.

He explained that this could shoot in the foot efforts to stop the community spread of the virus.

Mr. Atta-Kyea also encouraged Ghanaians to compliment government’s efforts at reducing the perennial flooding in the country by desilting gutters regularly in anticipation of heavy rains this year.
