Liverpool FC has confirmed that Mohamed Salah will depart the club at the end of the 2025-26 season, drawing the curtain on a transformative nine-year spell at Anfield.

The Egyptian superstar’s exit was announced in an official club statement on Tuesday, March 24, marking the end of an era for one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.

The statement highlighted Salah’s mutual agreement with the Reds to conclude his remarkable tenure, emphasizing his desire for transparency.

“Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025-26 season,” it read, underscoring the forward’s deep respect and gratitude toward the supporters who fueled his journey.

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, evolving from a promising talent into a global icon and one of the world’s elite attackers. His blistering pace, clinical finishing, and flair have redefined the right-wing role, earning him accolades as England’s – and arguably football’s – top performer during his time on Merseyside.

In 435 appearances, the 33-year-old has netted an astonishing 255 goals while lifting silverware including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield. Salah still has matches left to pad those stats and chase more glory before waving goodbye.
