In a damning admission, Gloria Allred has claimed there is a third R Kelly sex tape of him engaging in sexual acts with a minor, according to reports.
The celebrity lawyer alleged a newly-discovered sex tape featured the Ignition singer – real name Robert Kelly – ‘having sex with younger women’ was turned into police by a man who came across the tape among his VHS collection.
Gary Dennis claims he was going through old sports tapes when he found the old tape, alleged to be of R Kelly ‘sexually abusing underage African-American girls’ before he handed it over to the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
He claimed he didn’t know how the tape came to be in his possession.
‘Recently, I came across a box of VHS tapes that I have had in my home for many years. I love sports.’
‘And I was searching through the box to see which old tapes I wanted to keep, and which ones I wanted to throw out,’ he said in a press conference in New York alongside Allred on Sunday.’
‘I noticed a sports tape, but it also had R Kelly’s name on it. I thought it was a recording of an R Kelly concert. I watched the sports on the tape, then continued to watch what I thought would be an R Kelly concert.
‘To my shock and surprise, R Kelly appeared to be on the tape, but not in concert. Instead, he was sexually abusing underage African-American girls. He was telling them what to do and what to say and it appeared that he was in control of the camera.’
They claimed they believed the women in the videos were underage at the time because they ‘were not fully developed’.
Allred – who has represented many women who came forward against Harvey Weinstein – stepped in to try to explain how Dennis found the tape.
‘There had been friends who gave him sports tapes. He has no idea. He’s tried to think about it and…no idea. These are very old tapes…’ she said. ‘Mr Dennis has never met Mr Kelly, has never had any communication with Mr Kelly, and has never attended an R Kelly concert.’
Alleged to be the third sex tape found in the recent case levelled against R Kelly amid allegations of sexual abuse, the pair believed there were more tapes out there.
‘We hope that anyone who may have possession of such tapes will contact Ms [Allred] and turn over the tapes immediately,’ Dennis said. ‘I can’t get the memory out of my head. I just can’t. It stays with me constantly.’
Kelly is currently facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in connection to three girls and one woman and has vehemently denied all allegations against him. He recently spoke out about the claims in an interview with CBS News’ Gayle King. ‘I’m very tired of all the lies,’ Kelly said.
‘I’ve been hearing and seeing things on the blogs. ‘All of them [are lying]. That little girls trapped in the basement, helicopters over my house, handcuffing, starving people, I have a harem or cult.’
‘I don’t really know what a cult is but I know I don’t have one. ‘If you look at that documentary, everybody said something bad about me. They was describing Lucifer, I’m a man and make mistakes but I’m not the devil or a monster.’
‘They are lying on me.’ The singer was recently released from jail after $161,000 (£122,000) in child support he owed was paid. Cook County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sophia Ansari confirmed the singer would be released on Saturday, after an unknown person made the payment on his behalf.
