Medeama SC have won Ghana’s 2026 Champions of Champions trophy after beating FA Cup holders Nations FC 2-0 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday, 30 August. The Ghana Premier League champions controlled the match and secured an early confidence boost ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Goals: Sulemana penalty, Annor finish

Medeama broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when Nations FC were penalised for handball in the box; defender Fatawu Sulemana calmly converted the spot-kick. After the break, winger Emmanuel Annor doubled the lead with a composed finish against his former club, sealing a 2-0 victory.

Next up: CAF Champions League vs TP Mazembe

The win sets up Medeama’s continental opener, as they prepare to host DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round tie on Sunday, 6 September at the TNA Stadium (15:00 GMT). Nigerian referee Joseph Odey Ogabor has been appointed to officiate the match.

Nations FC turn to Confederation Cup

Nations FC will now shift focus to Africa as well, travelling to Mali to face Diarra FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie on Saturday, 5 September.
