Lionel Messi said his emotional reaction after Argentina’s 3-2 comeback win over Egypt was a release of tension, anger and joy.

He explained that he was frustrated after missing an early penalty and felt he had let the team down, so his equaliser and the final comeback brought enormous relief.

Messi described the moment as “a release for all of us,” saying the emotion came from the missed penalty, the pressure of the situation, and the importance of the match.

He also praised the supporters, adding that their presence reflects what it means to be Argentine and the pride they give the team.

Argentina had trailed 2-0 before turning the game around in the 78th minute, with Messi’s goal helping spark the response before Enzo Fernández sealed the victory. The result was a dramatic, hard-fought comeback that clearly meant a great deal to the captain.
